THE DREAM

This video was made back in 2003 as and undergrad at UCLA.  It was my final project for a class on American Indian writers taught by Joy Harjo.  We read Black Eagle Child: The Face Paint Narratives by Ray A. Young Bear in which one of the characters reminded me of my Uncle Kirk who had recently passed away.  Combining passages from the book and my own reflections on my Uncle, the film is my attempt to articulate how Young Bear’s book helped me better understand my Uncle Kirk’s death.
